Well, I’ve finally done it. My hair is mostly gone. I didn’t just “Almost Cut My Hair”, I went ahead and did it. I’ve been growing it out for the last 20 months–all the way to 12″, and I plan on giving it to Locks of Love. They make wigs for children who have lost their hair from diseases such as cancer.

This is “Hurricane Ridge”…… It’s in The Olympic Mountains and over a mile above sea level….. The cool thing is that you’re not that far from sea level, as in the Pacific Ocean……

Here’s my “Best Shot” from Hurricane Ridge for the MR Community…… I don’t think a mirror image would make it any better……. Fair warning – I have a stockpile of pics from the trip!……

On my recent vacation/inspection of the Great North West, I took lots of pics, and had just as many, or more, taken of me with my camera…… Here’s the deal – The person I see in the photos doesn’t look like the person I see in the mirror!….. I understand the reverse image – left/right is right/left and all that, but that person in the photo just doesn’t resemble that handsome mug I see in my mirror….. Why?….. I look at other people in the same picture and they look, to me, just like they look when I’m eyeing them face-to-face…… What’s the deal?….. This isn’t something new to me, I noticed this years ago….. Is it just me (Watch out in the Peanut Gallery), or does everyone think a photo of them looks different than, no matter how small the difference, what they think they look like “in the flesh”?…..

I have been thinking lately about all of the people that I know and call friends, you know the list is shrinking not growing as should happen as one gets older. You know they say that friends come and go, I used to not agree with that I thought that friends were forever. I am learning that TRUE friends are forever, acquaintances come and go. Some things have happened in the last 6 weeks to people that I know, some of these people are friends and some have become acquaintances,as I found earlier this year. As most of you know I have worked with a band for the last 10 years, this January I was relieved of my duties with said band because some of the people got their feelings hurt because of an incident at a gig. Instead of talking it over I was told that “it would be better if I did not come around for a while”. I had always considered those guys my friends and I thought friends could talk anything over, apparently I was wrong. The reason I bring this example up at this time is the Lead singer of said band was involved in a accident last Fri. Morning and took a innocent lady’s life because of being under the influence while behind the wheel. and you know I really do not feel any sorrow for him. I feel sorry for his family, the victims family, and the fans of the band. On the other hand. As many of you know I have known our esteemed leader Midnight Rambler for almost 20 years as well as Jek, Izzard, lsd and Booker, We have had some differences over the years and We kind of lost contact for some time in the ’90s but have renewed our friendships lately and are just as good of friends as ever. And as a result of knowing them I have met (By this blog and e-mails) the rest of you some of you I came to know by reputation and stories from MR and Jek,and I have enjoyed blogging with you and I am proud to consider all of you friends. We have had some spirited conversations on these boards over the last years, but still manage to remain friends. This just proves that friends can differ, argue and agree to differ and still remain friends. So to all of you I raise a glass in respect and welcome all of you to my world, Thank you all for participating in my trivia quizzes, and look forward to actually meeting those of you that I do not know personally. On my way to the Great Northwest, I ran across this at one of the newsstands in the Salt Lake City airport…… Tommy Chong has written a book of his life and times, including how he was targeted by our lovely government that resulted in him serving time……

The name of the book is “I Chong”….. As I was in a bit of rush at the time making flight connections, I didn’t buy the book then….. I do plan to visit a bookstore and pick it up, though….. Looks like it might be an interesting and enlightening read……

Yes, I’m heading for the Great NorthWest this Wednesday for an inspection tour of Jektown, Anon point, and various other locations just to keep our community on its toes…… I expect to be treated as Royalty!….. Just Kidding…… If it wasn’t for Jek, we wouldn’t have this great place to converse, bitch, gripe, and just generally say what we want….. So-o-o-o, expect some postings by me on the condition of MR Central from the real HQ in the NorthWest…… I’m looking forward to getting out of the Heartland for a while…… I might have to be forced on to the return flight kicking and screaming…….
