Now, I’m not saying today is his Birthday – It might be tomorrow, or the next day,or, maybe even yesterday….. Don’t want to give out too much personal information to the more than slightly off-center society that we live in today….. Anyway, I’m sure Jek knows when his Birthday is, and, it’s around this time of year (Maybe, Ha!)…..

So, Happy Birthday Jek, and thanks for all the work and effort you have given to this Blog – I would not be making this Post, nor would this Blog even exist without Mr. Jek…… Not only did he set-up the Blog, it is run though his server without any cost to the MR Community!….. Thanks Jek, you’re are definitely one of the Good Guys…..

Let’s hear it for Jek, even though he is a year older, but, hopefully wiser and happier….. Happy Birthday, JEK…..

We have been informed of the sudden passing Of the Person who Sir Paul McCartney called “The Best Bass Player ever” Donald “Duck” Dunn.at age 70 In Tokyo, Japan.

Donald “Duck” Dunn (November 24, 1941 – May 13, 2012)[1][2] was an American bass guitarist, record producer, and songwriter. Dunn was notable for his 1960s recordings with Booker T. & the M.G.’s and as a session bassist for Stax Records, which specialized in blues and gospel-infused southern soul and Memphis soul music styles. Dunn also performed on recordings with The Blues Brothers, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Albert King, Levon Helm, Neil Young, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Guy Sebastian, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, Roy Buchanan and Arthur Conley.

On the morning of May 13, 2012, Dunn died in his sleep after finishing a double show at the Blue Note night club in Tokyo the night before. Dunn had been in the country as part of an ongoing tour with Steve Cropper and Eddie Floyd.He is survived by his wife, June; a son, Jeff; and a grandchild, Michael

Our mobile command post has just learned of the death of George Lindsey Better known as Goober Pyle star of the Andy Griffith show, Mayberry RFD, And cameo roles on Gomer Pyle USMC. He was also a regular on Hee Haw from 1969 until 1983. SALLLUTE!!

I can’t believe it!….. I just got here seconds ago, and, it’s already time to start packing to leave!…. IT’S NOT FAIR…. …But, it’s been great!….. Stuffed about two months of serious goofing-off into nine (9) days (minus two (2) days of travel time – Where’s Scotty and all that beaming technology we’re supposed to have had by now?)….. I’ll probably need at least a couple of weeks just to recover when I get back to Oklahoma….. Do I have to go back?….. Haven’t I served my sentence yet?….. Shouldn’t I get some extra time in Seattle for Good Behavior (O.K., Fair Behavior)?….. Yes, PD Bob, I’m am heading back soon, and, there WILL be a FORMAL INSPECTION and review of your actions, and that of your Brigade…. Better be very, very careful of what you document in the Official Reports….. I Know you only too well…. See everybody soon…..

Already in the third day of my Seattle getaway!…. Going by – way, way too fast!….. Already visited with Jimi – shot some video, checked-in with Anon, and lots of other fun stuff…. Going to hear some live music tonight, etc., etc….. Working on a Jek ordained “MR To-Do List”….. Nothing backbreaking, just some cool odds and ins that need the personal MR touch…… AND, YES, The Space Needle is on the schedule!….. I’ll be selling mementos to any interested parties when I get back…… Got some Goofing-Off to do – Report in later!…. J.J./Robo – Check up on PD Bob – make sure he hasn’t blown anything or anybody up yet….. Having a GREAT time – Everyone should have came along – You’re missing it (Ha!)….. Again, it’s going by way too fast….

Seattle MR Community!…..

Boy, are you on my S-List!…… I have to hear on my local Oklahoma news that the 50th Anniversary of the Space Needle in Seattle was when?….. YESTERDAY!….. When do I arrive in Seattle?….. THIS TUESDAY!…. Did I miss this event?….. DUH!….. I hope you like standing in the corner for a few hours, although, PD Bob had some much more creative ideas for punishment, but, the recovery time was unacceptable……

I’m sure it was considered as “just another day” with all the activities going on in Seattle all the time, but, I think it would have been really cool to have been present for this one….. I still want to check it out and get a commemorative button or something for the BIG EVENT that I MISSED by three days….. I’m not really that MAD – Just jumped at the opportunity to pick on the Seattle branch of the MR Community…..

Our mobile office has just been informed of the passing of Levon Helm. He was the lead singer and drummer for The Band. Born in Arkansas he was the only non canadian member of the band. Formed in 1958 as The Hawks, Backing singer Ronnie Hawkins, they went on to back Bob Dylan at Woodstock. as any musicians that backed Dylan were referred to as the band, They decided to take that name when preforming solo.

I guess I’ll have to fill in as the MR Coroner, as Sunn has disappeared from our Community and J.J. is out crossing the countryside somewhere….. Dick Clark, The American icon of “American Bandstand”, famous for introducing new music acts in the late ’50′s into the ’60′s on the new entertainment format known as “TV”….. He also hosted the “Rockin’ in the New Year’s” celebration in New York starting in the late ’90′s, and except for a couple of years in the mid-2000′s when he had a heart attack, he did so up to and including 2012….. He was 82 years old (I thought he had to be older than that, I mean I’d been hearing his name since I was a kid), and died of a heart attack on the 18th when he went in for some minor out-patient treatment in L.A.….. See Ya hosting the New American Bandstand one of these days in the Other World….. Goodbye, Mr. Clark……

Coming into Seattle…..

Packing up and heading for Seattle to see how the MR Community there is doing…… Arriving late night on the 24th through the 2nd of May….. Plan to mostly vacation and goof-off, and, get away from the dangerous weather we’ve been having here in Oklahoma….. PD Bob is all bent out of shape as I have ordered him to stay here and start working on plans and construction of a new underground MR HQ with his Prairie Dog Brigade…..

I’ve already decided that if I stay in Oklahoma (also known as “Tornado Alley”), I’m going to start a petition that all new construction – Houses, Buildings, Malls, etc. be required by law to be built UNDERGROUND, with a retro clause that within 10 years or so, all structures, including the State Capitol, be underground…… The only thing allowed on the surface will be roads, then maybe the Tornadoes will lose interest!…. The cost, in the long run, couldn’t be much more than replacing everything every year….. I heard on the news that this idiot, who has now had his home destroyed TWICE in the last five years, is going to REBUILD again on the same location!… Take a hint, Dummy, Mother Nature does not want you there!…. Of course, It’ll never happen, People don’t do anything extra, unless they are forced to, even if it would save their lives!…… ….And the World turns, for a little while longer anyway…..
