Beowulf, An Epic (sort of)

I just seen an trailer for the new movie Beowulf Debuting 16 Nov. As many of you know we have referenced a project that we did several years ago for Jek, a video adaptation of this literary classic. Starring MR Central Alumni, Myself(J.J.) Jek, Izzard. and others. Picture this. I played the villain Grendel’s mother. OK wait for it, Me in a dress doing my best Graham Chapman Old woman voice, going after king Hrothgar (Izzard) ending in a epic fight on a trash pile where I should have won a Oscar for the longest death on film. (“DIE ALREADY” Izzard). Anyway I just thought I would mention this because we already did this film 15 years ago, I guess in this season of remakes of classic films of the ’80s it was inevitable. MR I think it is time to unearth the tapes of the films and re release it on dvd. We could put it up on YouTube and become stars, Ala Hardware Wars. Calm down I would never do that without written permission, Jus thinkin outloud.

  1. I wouldn’t mind seeing those videos again myself….. If you are volunteering to help me dig them out of the storage building, J.J., we’ll see if we can find them, and, see if they are as good as we think they were….. I don’t know if Jek has a copy of the finished product or not….. Do you, Jek?….. I know I have all the unedited stuff and should have a finished one as well….. Man, that was a lot of years ago, even though it seems like yesterday….. Time is just warping along – exceeding light speed……

  2. Oh whatever…this is just our movie with some fancy CG and Angelina Jolie. Other than that…it’s exactly the same. Shouldn’t they be paying us royalties?

    I bet they don’t even use real ice-cream cones…

  3. Yeah, if it’s as good as I remember it, they should be paying us royalties and have us as consultants on the movie with our own trailers, limos, catered food – all the stuff our talent deserves…..

  4. I never thought about it that way, You are both absolutely right. I agree. Jek, What say you? Hello Anybody there? Get the poi out of your ears and answer us!

  5. I believe I have a copy in a box somewhere. Someday I plan on digging all of that out and digitizing it. Then it’ll be DVDs for everyone…. or should I YouTube it?
