Hide Me!……

Today, in OKC, we are experiencing our 15th straight day of rain, which breaks all recorded rainfall records and it’s still coming down…… Of course, this doesn’t mean continuous rain, but, precipitation in some amount on every day…… This started on the 13th, which, just so happens to be the exact day I returned from Seattle…… People are blaming me for bringing this deluge back with me…… I can’t even get in my driveway, it’s washed out and the rain just keeps coming…… Luckily, it’s too damp for their torches to light and they haven’t thought of a sacrificial drowning…… I’m kinda enjoying it myself, it is definitely a different June than we usually have around here…..

  1. Make that 16 days straight!….. Somebody hide me!…….

  2. This is all probably some clever ploy by the studios to boost the box office ratings of Evan Almighty. I’m thinking the Official Do-It-Yourself Life Sized Lego® Ark Home Kit would be a big hit at toy stores right now.

Let’s see, how many inches in a cubit ?

  4. Still Rainin’, Still Dreamin’ ” – Hendrix – Day 17 and the 7-day forecast is rain, rain, and more rain……

Izard – I doubt the studios would try to boost ratings in Oklahoma….. A drop in the bucket, so to speak, if everyone in the state paid to see the movie……

Didn’t HE say that HE wouldn’t do the 40 days – 40 nights thingy again?……

RtG – There are enough inches in a cubit to flood my backyard….. Anyone got some waders I can borrow?…..

  5. Yeah, but the trick is finding Gopher Wood, Here………on a Saturday…………………………At this hour!

  6. “Help! – I need somebody” – to hide me!!!!! Day 18 and it is raining, and raining, and still raining….. Did I mention it was STILL RAININ’?…….

  7. Hiding from rain is not very Seattle-like. If you want to do something outside in Seattle, you can’t wait until it stops raining. You may never get to do it. One just puts on a rain shell and does it. If you’re hiding from the floods, well that’s a different story…

Hey, have any pictures of your full pothole yard to share.?

  8. Why do I have a picture in my mind of you running around like the gangster in the Bugs Bunny cartoon (you know the little guy with the big hat) hollering to Bugs “Hide Me, Hide Me” and bugs hides him and his buddy in the oven?

  9. Jek, I’m not hiding from the rain, I love it…… I’m trying to hide from all the people who are blaming me for bringing this back from Seattle….. S-l-o-w D-o-w-n and R-e-a-d the original Post…… I’m more like Daffy when he finds treasure – Whoo-ho!……

  10. I forgot about that one YIPE!!!!!!

  11. There’s no DOG lyric in Slow Down. Hey that reminds me: remember this anyone? “DOGG the Dog”.

Better not bring D.O.G.G. up in front of J.J.,Jek…… He’s still mad that you have all the DOGG tapes in Seattle and he wants copies…….

  13. Is that where all those are? Sounds like Jek needs to burn off some DVD “the best of” collector editions and send them out. Hint hint.

  14. Yeah, Hint, Hint……

  15. Doh! What was I thinking? Now let’s see. Those are in the basement, in a box, somewhere… Need to round up a search party me thinks.

  16. #16 by MRambler

While Jek is organizing a search party, back to the weather……. Day 19 – Cloudy today, possibly a trace of rain….. Have to wait until tomorrow’s weather report to see if the rain ended with 18 straight…. At least there were no downpours today – yet……

  17. #17 by MRambler

About 30 minutes after I made the above post, it started raining….. Call it 19 days Straight…… I’m bettin’ on 21….. Any takers?…….

  18. #18 by MRambler

Well, Well, Well….. As as matter of fact, the well dost runneth over…. Day 20 and we have already had enough rain today to call it official according to local Channel 9 Weather – 20 Straight!…… Only one more day to win my bet….. Of course, I had no takers on it….. See Comment #17 above…… I’ll make it even better!…… I’m saying it will not only make it to 21, but stop at 21, breaking the chain, and they are showing 40% to 60% chances of rain for the next seven days…… Standard Bet (one(1) U.S. Dollar)….. Any takers now?……

  19. Thank you Izzard for bringing up that long standing subject Yes that is a sticky subject with yours truly “I WANT THOSE TAPES NOW KID” I also want copies of all the Beowulf stuff MR!!! I have a BETA (2 actually) that will work for transfers. BTW In case Jek you didnot see my answer to you before I was Grendel’s Mother you Goob. Not Beowulf’s and I fought Izzard on the trash pit. (DIE ALLREADY!!!!) The classic line from Beowulf, An Epic (Sort Of).

  20. BTW I do not want “Collectors edition Best Of” I want Raw Uncut.

  21. uh, what happened to the rain score — the original post subject?

  22. I was just following the other lemmings right off the cliff.

  23. To bring this to a close – I WISH!….. I would have lost my bet as it did not rain on the 21st day, BUT, picked up again two days later….. It rained so hard Tuesday morning (the 10th) that it totally washed out my driveway….. I mean the yard is covered in sand, dirt and gravel and I had a 3 foot deep crater about 8 foot wide and 4 foot long…… Argh!…. We just filled it enough so I could get in and out with my 4×4 Raider because they are predicting more heavy rain for today and tomorrow…… I like the rain, but, this is getting personal now….. Somebody do a “Sun Dance”……

  24. Do you have a picture of the damage so we can sympathize properly?

  25. I am going to wait until tomorrow to take the picture as they are predicting heavy rain again for tonight….. I think everyone will want to send me a suitable Hallmark card….. (The keyword is “suitable”)

  26. Her ya go, Jek…… This was taken before the last overflow and after we had dumped about 10 wheelbarrow loads of dirt and rock in the hole……
    washout
The gate section on the left of the pic used to rub on the driveway and was hard to close…… The yard is covered in gravel, dirt, and sand that washed out of the hole….. Is this bad enough to get a little sympathy for MR or what?…..

  27. Yuck! OK, I’ll give you some sympathy now. Better not wallow in it too long, you might sink in the quicksand.

  28. For $220, Oklahoma County working through Spencer is going to install a 20 foot long 18″ Flat (oval) culvert, rebuild the driveway, and deepen the drainage ditches on both sides of the road….. I told Robo (the property owner) I would go in halves on it….. Hopefully it will correct the flood problem….. BTW, we have had rain somewhere in the state of Oklahoma for the past 37 days straight – a new all-time record!…. Luckily, it’s been missing the OKC area for the past few days…..
