    • F SHARP. A flea. The pun is F, the initial letter, and sharp because the bite is acute. (see B Flats. )

    Maybe someone could explain that one to me.

    B FLATS. Bugs. The pun is “B” (the initial letter), and “flat,” from the flatness of the obnoxious insect.

    I found this obscure stuff and thought I would share it with the musicians out there. Sorry, can’t reveal my source.

      My guess is that these are no longer in wide use, if at all. Imagine going to the vet and saying “My dog has F Sharps.” or going to the insect zoo to see the B Flats.
