The Business of Stupidity and Vice Versa….

British Rail was having trouble keeping its InterCity express trains running on time in 1998, but executives solved the problem without a major overhaul of equipment or systems enhancement…… They simply redefined “on time”…… Now trains run “on time” if they arrive within an hour of schedule……..

Corporate thinking, eh?…….. Someone probably got a big bonus for that one……

  1. Executive types have to have some way to justify their salaries. In today’s corporate world you are constantly reminded that things can’t stay the same. Change is good.
However, sometimes you need to go with the old axiom “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Sadly, this doesn’t cut it with the CEO of today.
