Music and personality

Thanks to everyone for inviting me into your little community  I will try to offer something noteworthy from time to time.

selection of my nick name was influenced by my sudden involuntary freedom (lay off) so with a little anger and a lot of joy I chose Maj7b5 which can be compared to pleasant (G6) and rebellious (M7b5). I have always been a bit of a rebel against corp. ethics or lack of.

If you haven’t heard it listen for the M7 b5 to end a jingle or in sit-com music.

Have a great day, my pleasure to join the Blog.

  1. Sorry Bob I need a do over, I meant to use Maj7b5. When you have a moment change my Nick name to Maj7b5 and delete my post. I will do it over later.

Should have had guitar in hand.

  2. Cool, Mr. M7, looks like you’ve got the basic hang on things…… Again, welcome to our small, weird community….. Most of us are musicians or audiophile fanatics, but, we voice opinions on any and everything, along with harassing each other….. Notice that you can Post under a specific category or multiple ones, if more than one applies…… This whole Blog thing was a Birthday Gift set-up by my son, who goes as Jek on the Blog seven (7) years ago, and, again, let me welcome you, as, I have to admit, I have been getting a bit lazy over the past few months Posting/Commenting, and am looking for a big upsurge of communication (No Pressure (Ha!)…… EGO doesn’t live here….. Hell, with the intelligence and foresight of our small group, we should be running the Government!….. We would have it shaped up within a week! (What was I saying about EGO?…. Oh, Well)

  3. Apparently, we were commenting at the same time, BUT, you don’t need to do the Post over as I went in an corrected it as needed…. If, for some reason, you want to further change it, we can do it when we get together…..

  4. OK you two, take pitty on us poor drummers that can’t read music and use strings to tie up our sticks. And keys to start the van. Give us a practical application of the infamous Maj7b5 chord. A song that features it maybe?

  5. Oh, you poor, poor, sad drummers…. Lost in a world of your own….. You’re lucky us guitarists take pity on you (Ha!)…… Next time I see you, I give you a short history on the Maj7b5 and maybe even play it for you!……

  6. So how is your nickname pronounced?

    Test

  7. I think we finally settled on Maj7b5…. Which I’m going to shorten on my Posts/Comments to Maj7……

  8. TTop,
My nick name is pronounced Major 7 flat five, you can call me Maj7 as MRambler suggest. It is simply an attempt at creating a unique song ending typically among Jazz players.

I don’t recommend a google search because you will fall down the rabbit hole among deep Jazz theorist. They speak a language foreign to most guitar players and drummers, horn players are at home there.
    M7
