Welcome to 2008!…..

How did it get to be 2008 this quick?…… I guess it’s here and we can’t change that, so, we’ll just have to deal with it…… I haven’t made up my mind yet as to whether 2008 is going to be better or worse than 2007….. I’m leaning toward a better year for all, although, it was a nice cozy 14 degrees this morning at MR HQ….. A little on the ch-i-i-l-ly side for my taste….. Nice sleeping weather, but alas, the holidays are over and work calls…..

I meant to post this yesterday on the 1st, but, I was still recovering from my Seattle trip and just sorta let the day slip away….. It was a great get-away and Jek and associates were the perfect hosts as usual….. Again, time accelerated as it always does when I’m in the Great NorthWest, and it was over much too soon…. Again, welcome to a New Year!……

  1. Another day has rapidly passed, and, it looks as if the Holidays took their toll….. No one has checked in….. I will start a World wide search for any survivors soon…..

  2. Whadayuwant! We’re all getting over the holidays.

  3. Cpl. J.J. Present and accounted fer Sgt. We spent the new year in the great white rockies (Sorry RtG) It was a total of 19 deg. F on NYs Day. But at least no snow. Had some on the 30th coming up. Hope all have a great new year and 2008 is DEFINITELY gonna be a better year all around.

  4. Good to hear from you, Anon, although we did have a great musical jam and visit over the holidays in the NW, so, it’s not like you’d gone missing or anything….. Anon even offered me accommodations in his basement, but, since I was happily tucked-in Jek’s basement, I declined….. Seems as if all I can find in Seattle is lower level digs, but, I have no complaints….. Their basements are better than any motel, and, the price is right!……

J.J., we may have to promote you to Buck Sgt. for your outstanding service in 2007, of course, I’ll have to promote myself in order to maintain a proper chain of command…..

I hope 2008 is ready for us ’cause here we come…..

  5. HS reporting for duty!

  6. I’m here. And, yes MR, it’s really me!

  7. Now that you are back home I can tell you about the extremely large spiders that lurk in the basement. Periodicaly we clean piles of bleached bones after guests have come to stay and stay. We haven’t had visitors lately and screechy voices are saying “feed me, feed me”.

You would have made grasious guest.

  8. Woops, MR, can you clean up that spelling for me. I ponched the wrong key.

  9. As for a promotion, I refer you to the episode of M*A*S*H where Radar got promoted. say no more. I like it here at rosie’s with my grape nehis as opposed to the O club.

  10. Thanks Anon….. You never told me about those spiders when I stayed in your basement before….. I always wondered where my pillow kept disappearing to….. What spelling?…. Isn’t grasious a word?….. OK, J., no promotion for you…… Welcome back, HS, and be ready for more quizzes….. And, last, but not least, there is a story about Izard’s comment #6….. I have a friend by the name of “Blu”, who when he calls me always starts the conversation with, “This is – inserts another one of our friends names”….. So-o-o, I was sitting in the Sea-Tac waiting on my plane and Izard calls….. I was expecting Blu to call since he was supposed to pick me up at the OKC airport, so, I immediately thought it was Blu doing his usual thing and Izard sounded a lot like Blu on the phone….. Needless to say, it took a few moments for me to realize it wasn’t Blu….. Sorry ’bout that Izard……
