This is one of those things that I’ve wondered about for quite some time and just can’t figure out…… You would think that the biggest business’s in Oklahoma would be in horses, cattle, or oil production, but, it would appear not….. Almost every other commercial on local TV and radio stations are from new car dealerships and new furniture outlets…… I think we have more of both in Oklahoma City alone than in Seattle and New York combined….. Just how many new cars and expensive furniture does a person buy in a lifetime?…… I personally have only purchased one new car in my lifetime and that was “way back when” they were reasonably priced…….. It would seem that the market would dissipate in a short time with the overabundance of suppliers and the high cost of a new vehicle or a quality piece of furniture. A person would not tend to replace such an expensive item on a regular basis…… Apparently they do with all the money the dealers sink into advertisement and promotions….. Or do they?….. I wonder if they are just a front for some other strange business ventures?…. Just a thought……
During the siege
of Paris in 1871, how were large quantities of mail transported?
Just curious if MRambler made it through the ice with his computer intact.? Haven’t heard a peep or boo out of him here at MRC since the storm(s). Has anyone seen him? Should we form a search party?

PBS is showing a 2 part Peter Frampton concert tonight & tomorrow night. Don’t know that I can get used to seeing almost bald Frampton singing “Show Me the Way”. The shots I’ve seen of him of late, he looks more dead than alive. Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Why is it customary “To Kiss The Popes drugstore
Toe” and not his hand, as it once was.
I know I’ve said this before, but anyone out there who doesn’t live in Oklahoma that wants to switch living places with me, just let me know…… The last two days we have had sustained winds from 30 mph to 50 mph with temps in the 50’s and 60’s causing numerous wildfires….. Tomorrow a major ice storm event is supposed to move in with up to an inch of ice and temps well below freezing, lasting up to a week….. Night time temps in the single digits….. Ice is not nice to all those above ground electric lines….. So if I’m not in contact for a while, you will know I’m huddled around the gas stove reading a book by candlelight….. I just love to hate this place…..
Weren’t we discussing here sometime back the legalcrappola between Apple Computer and Apple Records? Well, yet another confluence of the two just today, this time related to the announcement of Apple’s new mobile phone/device/thingy: ‘Jobs demonstrated the phone’s music capabilities by playing “Lovely Rita, Meter Maid”, from the Beatles’ “Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”.’
What is the original
meaning of “Fancy Free” and it’s opposite “Fancy Sick”?
Somehow made it to 2007…… Hope everybody survived all the New Year celebrations and are recovering on this, the first day of the New Year…… I’m starting out with a new hard drive in my computer installed by none other than Jek, who was in for the holidays, got stranded a couple of extra days due to the weather in Denver, which gave him the time to install it….. Although, he only had time to get me up and running with the O.S. and Internet access…… I get to install all my other programs and restore what data I need……. With 80 gig, I won’t have to worry about running out of memory space ever again!……
While we were installing the hard drive, I noticed something that I guess I had not noticed before….. Why is there no B-Drive?….. You have an A-Drive, which is usually a floppy drive, and then it skips to C-Drive, and on and on down the alphabet….. What happened to “B”?….. Computer Dummies like me want to know……
