It’s Fair Time…..SO WHAT

Maybe I’m becoming an old curmudgeon but I am already tired of hearing about the fair. I don’t care about any of the rides, all the exhibits in the buildings are about selling overpriced trinkets. The concerts are only places for the PWT kids to gather and try to buy beer and show off, Seems like none goes to hear the music. The midway isn’t fun anymore(In my opinion), now I know a lot of us used to go and have fun but it seems that all you hear about the OK st fair anymore is what fight broke out, who got stabbed, etc. And the food, $3.00 for a corn dog give me a break.I think I’ll just go to the zoo.

DID YOU KNOW……..I didn't think so. Owl-light

Beatles Radio

As most of you know, my favorite radio station is Aural Moon, a progressive rock internet radio station. Well I’ve found another very cool station: Beatles Radio. This station plays songs by The Beatles, any member of The Beatles, related people (like Billy Preston), and covers of all those songs. Recently they’ve been playing stuff of the new Love album. Cool!

You can listen to Beatles Radio on iTunes (under 50s/60s Pop) or at beatlesradio.com.

How to be Unemployed in 1 easy lesson.

As of 0830 this morning I am no longer a over the road truck driver. I have taken a new job in town (OKC) starting 05.Sep2007. I have seen enough of the country to last a lifetime, and decided it’s time to see my home for a while. Mrs. J.J. is Extremely Overjoyed with this change and has already presented me with my Honey-do list that should keep me busy for several years to come. I am going to get back into my music more fervently now (I have already cleaned my Drums) Yes that was what the dust cloud over OK was this morning. I will be working for a local concrete company weekdays, so I will be checking in with the community daily now. (Good Bad Hummmm…) Until next Wed. I am Unemployed and will be taking Blutarsky’s advice to Flounder in Animal House I will be Drinking heavily. Happy Labor Day…hic..hic

Music Trivia 08.26.07

This group formed in 1968 is one of the most sucessful progressive rock bands in history, in 1983 they reworked their musical style on their album which was titled after the record company’s catalogue number for it. one hit from this album’s video has several different versions and back when MTV played videos one never knew which one would be shown. Who were they? What was the album? and what was the song/video? 3 points.

DID YOU KNOW…….I didn't think so. On oysters

“Fast as

a Kentish oyster “, i.e. hermetically sealed. Kentish oysters are proverbially good and all good oysters are fast closed.

“No more sense than an oyster”. Oysters have a mouth, but no head.

Oyster Part. An actor who appears, speaks, or acts only once. Like an oyster, he opens but once.

This may have

more meaning to us who live close to the sea.

The Band, Jake, The Band……

Since HS was asking about, “Where’s my Strat”, I thought I would post this shot taken during a band practice at my house, which was before we found a practice studio and I traded the Twin in for a Dual Showman……
MRambler
I paid $260 for the brand-new Made in the USA Strat in ’72…… American made was all they offered back then….. The “StratoBlaster” pre-amp provided signal boost at the flip of a switch, The “Hawk II” equalizer was great….. You could emulate lots of different guitars with it…… I used the “Pignose” for adjustable distortion…… The whole rig seemed to work great for the time… I still have all of it except the guitar and amp….. Oh yeah, I even have a few of the “Terraplane” Iron-ons left….. I’ll save a close-up of the logo for another post and explain why I’m irritated with Joe Walsh(the thief)!

….And, I did not forget the song I promised in the last band post…… Here it is:Bungle In The Jungle

Check the previous post The Band, Elwood, The Band….. for details on how it was recorded, then take a listen and let me know what you think…… Yes, I know I’m asking for it…… BTW, this Sunday, the 26th of August, marks the 32nd anniversary of this recording….. Man, where does the time go????……
