It’s Time, Time, Time…..

We all get to “Time Travel” one hour into the future, well, it’s not really time travel, but, we do “Spring Forward” and lose an hour until next Fall (huh?)…..  What a pain, resetting all your clocks, including that uncooperative internal body clock – that’s the one that gives me the most trouble…..

A little history on DST:  The idea was first floated back in 1784 by one Benjamin Franklin. While minister of France he wrote the essay “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light.” The idea failed to see the light of day until practically 100 years later, when the U.S. railroads instituted a standardized time for their train schedules. That time change was imposed nationally during the first World War to conserve energy, but was repealed after the war ended. It became the national time again during World War II.

Although it is supposed to conserve energy due to one hour of more daylight when most people are awake, studies have shown that the savings are nominal at best…..  In our current state, I guess even a penny of energy saved is better than nothing……

  1. I guess no one has the time to make a comment. That lost hour must really be hitting home.

  2. There’s no Time like the present Time to take the Time to make it Post Time…… You may have to take the Time to read that a second Time…… If you can find the Time – Got Time?…..

  3. It’s time for time. Time to stop and pick up a dime in time. If only we had a time tunnel then we would have time for tea time. Hey what’s the time. Time to go. I seem to be out of time. What a waste of time. Until next time.

  4. No, it’s, “Time is on my Side” (Stones)…… It’s a good thing that I don’t stutter, or, or I might not have the ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-i-i-im-im-im-me-me-me-me to know what time it is…… Timely……eh?…..

  5. I think it’s Time to do the Time Warp again (Rocky Horror). Or maybe it’s Time to send you Back to the Future. I find my self Sliding through time (Sliders). Tempest Fugit. I am having a grand old Time. It seems that MR and I have Lots of Time on our hands. Plot Complication: There is a Temporal Anomaly off the port bow, Captain. There’s no Time like the present. It’s Time to order Pizza – Hope it gets here in Time. A stitch in Time. 4/4 Time. Apple time rag (Ragtime Jazz). Pizza is almost late, they’ll have to give it to me for free next Time. Captain? that Temporal Anomaly is getting closer! No, it’s Dom-e-do’s pizza delivery. Once again, I find it’s Time to go now. Until next Time.

  6. I deleted your first attempt in order to save Time….. I also revised, corrected, and added to your #5 Timed response….. Much better, I think…..

Also, I think you set an all Time record for the most grammar errors found in such a short comment…… Spend a little more Time with the spell checker, if you can find the Time…. TIME OUT…….

  7. Thanks you corrected that in the nick of time.

  8. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
    You missed the starting gun

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

    Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way
    The time is gone
    The song is over
Thought I’d something more to say

    Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
    Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

  9. Time…….”duration over space”……….a definition I read in a book. I’m still confused.

  10. Good to hear some quoted “Floyd”, Jek….. It didn’t take too much “Time” to read it……

Anon, don’t forget to carry your dimension and multiply by the sum of the Universe…… Time that!…….

  11. Jek: I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Everyone else: 42= Space time continuum.
