  1. Since I only use my memory (which is fading fast) ,I can’t participate in quizzes with specific dates, etc. Come to think of it, I think I had already posted that somewhere else. See what I mean? I think I’ve had a bad experience with the “Brain Police” way back there somewhere over or under the rainbow bridge.
I was an Elvis fan from the beginning, but I appreciated the music & the hype more than anything else about him.

  2. #2 by Randalf the Grey

Working only from memory, I know that all of E’s grammys were for gospel songs, but the only one I know for sure is “How Great Thou Art”. His first #1 hit was “Heartbreak Hotel”. E and P were married at the Alladin Hotel the year I graduated from high school–1967. He was among the first inductees in the bogus R & R Hall of Fame in 1986. I was a fan of the 50’s Elvis, less so in the 60’s. By 1970, I didn’t care for the man or his music. There can be no doubt he was one of the most important figures in the history of rock.
I’m not familiar with much of Brother Dave’s material, but I’m going to guess that he said Jesus of Nazereth was the 1st rock and roll artist.

  3. I really hate to steal the Big Bonus Points, but, a person does get looby sometimes…. You know positive points aren’t my thing…… The first Rock ‘n’ Roll artist was “Little David” because he took a rock and rolled the giant….. You have to hear the complete “Brother Dave” version to fully appreciate it…… GIVE ME MY POINTS, J.J……

  4. HELLO, MCFLY: ANYBODY OUT THERE. I’ll leave this one operative for another week but as for the guesses so far.

SUNN: I am going to give you 2 points just for showing that alzheimers can be fun, Hey you wake up in a different world each day.
    RTG: 1. correct 1 point, 2. incorrect. 8. incorrect. 10. correct 1 point.
