MATTER IN THE WRONG PLACE IS CALLED WHAT?

  1. I’ll start the bidding with “Anti-matter”…..

  2. Here are a few tries at it:

    * Misplaced Matter

    * It-Just-Doesn’t Matter

    * Matter of Whact

  3. “It Doesn’t Matter” (Firefall)

    Electrons in a magnetic field?

    Our new kitten not doing her business in the litter box?

    Sunn, here’s some embarassing trivia: The crappy band I was a member of in Seattle opened for Firefall. It was the Ballard Firehouse, 1995. They were pretty snotty and uptight for a band that was playing in a venue like that, and having us as an opening act. I remember the guitarist (snottiest of the bunch) played a very early, solid baby-blue PRS.

  5. Crappy band in Seattle?……….Which band was that?

  6. Anon, “As a MATTER of fact” (gotta stay with the theme of the Post), All of them…. Just Kidding…. I had the pleasure of seeing some of the local bands, and “As a MATTER of fact” purchased CD’s on the spot of “The Mark Dufresne Band” and “Billy Stapleton” – Great Blues acts…. Stapleton played lead guitar in Dufresne’s band, later put out a solo album, and was voted “Best Blues guitarist in Seattle”….. I even co-hearsed Tarn into getting them autographed for me…. I’m sure the band much more enjoyed autographing them for a real beauty as opposed to an old beast (me)….

    Back to the guesses – “Displaced Matter”, “Matterless”, “It Doesn’t Matter (anymore)” – an extension off of Sunn’s comment, which is a Buddy Holly song…. Trivia – his last name was really spelled “Holley”, and I think from, what I hear and read, he was a nice guy to be around as opposed to Firefall, HS…..

    I’d deny everything, but Jek saw us play. It was called No Exit. Occasionally we rose to the level of being a Duran-Duran bootlicker, which really sounds pleasant, no? We gigged in Redmond (can’t remember the name of the sportsbar-like place), a couple places in Pioneer Square (the Swan, which is long-since closed; The “Taj,” which I hope is closed), The New World (85th and 15th Ave NW), JimmyZ’s in Everett, and at the Jewelbox Theater at the Rendezvous in Belltown. The highlights were mostly nonmusical, e.g. our transsexual short-term guitar player’s amp literally (and blessedly) melting down during a show; fun law enforcement activities in the alleyway behind the Rendezvous, including a fullbore sprint chase by Seattle’s finest with weapons drawn; and last but not least, meeting my wife!

  8. Sounds like a “Reader’s Digest” version of the life of a normal local rock band…. The best parts always seem to happen somewhere else than the stage, except the usual amount of equipment and personnel screw-ups, and include a goodly amount of misdemeanor acts and consumption of substances (liquid and otherwise) which caused the equipment and personnel screw-ups on stage in the first place…..

    Yeah, what is it with musicians and strange substances anyway? I misheard the old phrase as “Sex, guns, and rock&roll.” One too many Nugent videos I guess. Oh well.

    Sorry, I guess we’re getting pretty far afield of the Quiz!

  11. This is a quiz Post?….. Oh, yeah, well, Anon, we’ve been side-tracked and have just been “Rambling” on…. Most of the “Matter” that’s important to me is in storage, so, I guess you could call it “Stored Matter”, “Invisible Matter”, or “Irretrievable Matter”….. I know the general area in which it is located, but everywhere I look in that area is the “wrong place”…..

  12. Ah, yes. Buddy Holly. I remember playing at the Officers Club at Tinker AFB in the 60’s. They were proud of the fact that Buddy Holly had recorded one of his hits right there on that stage. Since this is a quiz………anyone know which song it was?

  13. “That’ll be the Day” when I give you the answer to the name of that song, Sunn…. Anon’s going to want to know whats happened to his quiz…. That’s what he gets for leaving the inmates in charge….

  14. Incorrect, MR. We’re all bozos on this bus.

  15. A Black Hole?

  16. What in the crap has been going on!! The inmates have not been taking their meds. This is supposed to be educational and you’ve turned it into a big pile since I’ve been gone.

    Lets get back on track. According to the THE BIG BOOK OF ANSWERS…..”DIRT” is matter in the wrong place. It’s Sunday night and all answers are in. Start the voting. Only one vote per. Five points will be given for the answer which receives the most votes.

    Huskysooner, ever run into Dick Stockton or John Day in an alley?

  17. By popular vote Huskysooner gets the five points.
