I would enjoy hearing about the hangovers you guys have this morning, as soon as you are
able. Aren’t I a sick bastard ? I didn’t imbibe last night, since I’m here all by my lonesome
(my wife is in OKC). Also, I had a little too much tequila a few nights ago and still haven’t
completely recovered from that. It’s snowing here in the Sangres this morning–a beautiful sight.

  2. I’m guessing that by the time line of this post you finally became conscious again MR!
To all bloggers: I visited the MR Central communication secret site 12.31.05 1035am GMT and our esteemed blogger in chief looked like death warmed over thanks to Mr.Harrison. It’s hell getting old isn’t?!
Randolph: I heard some of the old recordings during this visit, I’m speechless,! I hope that someday I will become as good a vocalist as you guys were(And I’m sure you still are).
And I bet the snow covered morning that you woke up to was just short of heaven, I lived a short time in Longmont, CO N. of Denver on 25 and I remember some absolutely heavenly mornings. Sure beats the smoky mornings that we have been waking up to the past week here on OK.

  3. Feeling good, but tired.  We celebrated the turning at Skamokawa Landing with family and friends.  We had a great time.  I especially had fun blowing several 20″ party horns at once consequently disturbing the ducks–or were they interested in mating? (yikes!)

No hangover here, though I am tired, probably due to lack of sleep and several forms of alcohol last night.  Tarn is busy making us Hoppin’ John, our (relatively new) traditional New Year’s Day meal complete with black-eyed peas.  You did remember to have yours, didn’t you??

  4. My wife suggested black eyed peas today, to supposedly bring us a better financial outlook for the new year. However, still semi-hungover, the thought of eating black eyed peas just didn’t appeal much to me today.

  5. Since black-eyed peas have never seemed to bring me the luck I thought I deserved (is that vain, or what?), I switched to pinto beans this year…. I’ll let you know how they work (besides the obvious “Blazing Saddles” bean scene)…. Why pinto beans?…. It goes back to a post I made in July…. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em…. Adios, Amigo…..

Thanks for the compliment, J.J. It’s nice to hear something like that from a fellow musician.
I hope MR hasn’t been playing tapes of a REAL singer and telling people it’s Randalf.

A grizzled old jazz saxophonist was sitting at the bar having a drink after his gig, when a
beautiful young woman walked up to him and said, “I heard you play earlier this evening, and
I wanted to tell you that your playing touched me in a way that music has never touched me
before. I want to take you home with me and cook for you and make love to you.”
He looked into her eyes for a moment, then said, “Did you catch the first set, or the second ?”

I’m not coming on to you J.J., just telling a joke.

  7. Funny joke, Randalf – fits a true musician to a tee….. I wouldn’t put too much faith in J.J.’s compliment, if you noticed he spelled your name as “Randolph”…. He was the one that was in bad shape as we listened to a couple of Christmas songs sung by “Rudolph”, you know that red-nosed reindeer?….. Being a drummer, he doesn’t hear (or spell) so well anymore….. Just pulling your antler, J.J……

Well, it looks like almost everybody has checked-in….. Hopefully, we’ll hear from the few stragglers soon…. 2006, it’s not what I expected – Seems the more things change, the more they stay the same……

  8. Woke up new years sick and I hadn’t done anything fun to get that way. Drowning in my snot, thanks.

  9. I feel for you, anon. Three Years ago, I spent Christmas day & several days after, laid up with a severe virus. Really sucks to be sick without having fun getting that way.

I’m really sorry to hear about your illness, anon. I guess the black-eyed peas won’t work if
you can’t keep ’em down. Feel better soon.

  11. To Sunn and Randalf,
Your sympathy is great medicine…..that and the whisky. Am feeling much better and ready to face the world, nay, the universe. How bout another little one for 06.

  12. …..And a big one for 2007….. I hereby declare that all registered users of MRamber Central will have a year-long party….. Good times and prosperity to all…. You just have to find something good in everything that happens to you and pass it on….. You’d be surprised how quickly it affects anyone around you….. (Maybe you shouldn’t have given me that last drink, Anon (Hic))……

  13. Sumtimes you just kant winn. Nad Rm I am starting right now! ( The party that is)
