Are there any advantages to being stupid?

It’s an attractive lifestyle choice because you won’t have to worry about losing your mind when you grow old if you lose it when you’re young…… Besides, the progressive dumbing down of America can be taken as a compliment….. Everyone else is trying to become more like you….. Plus, think of the sarcasm relief…… We are all bombarded by cruel, thoughtless comments….. While other people have their feelings crushed, you’ll go blithely on your way….. Or would if you had any idea what “Blithely” meant……

  1. This post may not be as far off as one might think. I’m beginning to believe that intelligence is a curse. Super small case in point: We continually find trash in our alley yard waste container. The container says ‘YARD WASTE’ in many locations. Presumably people who walk the alley live in Seattle, thus they should be familiar with a yard waste container vs. a trash container. Believe it or not, I prefer the people who walk the street side of our house and toss their trash into our yard. At least then we just have to pick it up off the ground rather than fish it out of the funky yard waste bin. YUCK!

  2. Well, I would say at a minimum that the “Alley Trashers” are not hikers since they didn’t “pack out their trash”, but they’re not “Litter Bugs” either….. I guess they seriously lack common sense or maybe they are just “Stupid” and regard a trash can as a trash can and the writing thereon is just decorative…..

The smarter the masses get, the dumber things they do…..

  3. I don’t think stupidity is so much a choice. Curse or not, intelligence is something that once you have, it is awfully hard to get rid of. Repeat applications of large amounts alcohol might help, but you might just get a bad liver.

But, for me, I agree with Socrates: I would rather be a sad person than a happy turtle.

  4. One advantage is that you can become head of FEMA. That advantage vanishes though once you are found wanting. Another advantage is being able to appoint similar types to positions of importance. This leads to a herd of happy turtles marching forward. All the turtles are happy. Bless the happy turtles.

  5. Men are born ignorant, not stupid….. They are made stupid by education……

  6. MR: Remember Tommy Turtle from the old Duck and cover Films from the 50’s and 60’s? He was pretty bright, What about the turtle that raced Bugs Bunny in that cartoon. I’d say the turtles have it.
As for me I relate with Mushrooms (Since I’m a Truck driver) Kept in the dark and covered up with BS.

  7. OK, All happy little mushrooms.
