I just finished re-reading all 56 Short stories and four novels of <strong>Sherlock Holmes<\/strong>&#8230;.  <strong>Sir Arthur Conan Doyle<\/strong> was a great writer&#8230;..  All of the stories read as if they were written today, not over a hundred years ago for the bulk of the canon&#8230;..  This is what caught my attention&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>In <em>The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes<\/em>, the last series of short stories written circa 1920-27, the third to the last one written is named, <em>&#8220;The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger&#8221;<\/em>, a story of a woman supposedly mauled by a lion&#8230;&#8230;  Here&#8217;s what jumped from the page setting off bells in my head, and, I quote, <em>&#8220;It was six months before she was fit to give evidence, but the inquest was duly held, with the obvious verdict of Death from Misadventure&#8221;<\/em>&#8230;&#8230;  Apparently, In England, this is a legitimate medical term for people that die by intentionally placing themselves in danger&#8230;..  I knew I had heard that phrase before&#8230;&#8230;<br \/>\n<img id=\"image727\" alt=holmes_haitt src=\"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/john-hiatt.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nI searched my CD collection and came up with <em>&#8220;Death by Misadventure&#8221;<\/em> by <strong>John Haitt<\/strong> off of his <strong>&#8220;Riding with the King&#8221;<\/strong> album&#8230;..  It fits perfectly and I recommend the album highly&#8230;..
