I&#8217;m not talking about my internal clock or even the weather.  I&#8217;m talking about a woodpecker that has decided that to peck our aluminum stove vent cover (on the chimney) around 6:30am.  Tarn informs me that he is a Northern Flicker.  I call him Pecker Head.  So the morning goes something like this: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>rat-tat-tt-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-tat &lt;pause&gt; rat-tat-t-at-tt-t-t-t-t-t-t-at-tat &lt;pause&gt; rat-tat- &#8220;SHUTUp!!&#8221; tt-t-t-t-ttat &lt;pau &#8220;That Pecker Head!!&#8221; se&gt; rat-tat-, etc.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Banging on the stove pipe worked once or twice, but Pecker Head quickly became immune.  Evidently he is asserting territory or trying to attract a mate.
