{"id":1618,"date":"2011-08-22T13:41:57","date_gmt":"2011-08-22T18:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/?p=1618"},"modified":"2011-08-22T13:41:57","modified_gmt":"2011-08-22T18:41:57","slug":"fire-and-rain-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/2011\/08\/22\/fire-and-rain-3\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Fire and Rain&#8221;&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just finished listening to <em>&#8220;Fire and Rain&#8221;<\/em> by <strong>James Taylor<\/strong>&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0My mind wandered a bit and I started comparing the song&#8217;s title to our weather this <em>Summer<\/em> in <strong>Oklahoma<\/strong>&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0The <strong>&#8220;Fire&#8221;<\/strong> part we have <em>exceeded<\/em> on all levels &#8211; <em>Temp wise<\/em> we tied the <em>all-time record of days over 100<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0(50 Days)\u00c2\u00a0<strong>Saturday<\/strong>, and since we still have plenty of <strong>HOT<\/strong> days left in the <strong>Season<\/strong>, I&#8217;m sure we will break it in the next day or two&#8230;.. \u00c2\u00a0<em>Wildfire wise<\/em> &#8211; We&#8217;ve had &#8217;em large and destructive everywhere mainly due to the fact the <strong>&#8220;Rain&#8221;<\/strong> part has come little and far between, and at an <em>expensive price<\/em>&#8230;.. \u00c2\u00a0When you have temps in excess of 100 and a little moisture in the air, you get what&#8217;s called <strong>&#8220;Micro-Burst&#8221;<\/strong> or <strong>&#8220;Down Draft&#8221;<\/strong> <em>thunderstorms<\/em> that cause <strong>&#8220;Gust Fronts&#8221;<\/strong> up to and in excess of <strong>100 MPH<\/strong> (<em>F-1 Tornado level &#8211; only straight not twisty<\/em>)&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0<strong>JT<\/strong> didn&#8217;t include<strong> &#8220;Wind&#8221;<\/strong> in his song &#8211; <em>He should have<\/em>&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0<strong>Example:<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0A few weeks ago we got less than <strong>1\/4 inch<\/strong> of rain&#8230;.. \u00c2\u00a0The <strong>Price<\/strong> of this precious little bit of moisture was <em>50,000 businesses and homes without electric- 100 year old trees uprooted &#8211; Damage\/total destruction to houses, property, animals, vehicles, etc&#8230;.<\/em> \u00c2\u00a0All for just a drop or two of rain that turned into a short <strong>&#8220;Steambath&#8221;<\/strong> the next day&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does all this mean?<\/strong>&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Who knows?&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0I don&#8217;t know which is gotten worse &#8211; <strong>The Weather<\/strong> or <strong>The Politicians.<\/strong>&#8230;. \u00c2\u00a0We need a change on both fronts or as they said in the<strong> &#8217;50&#8217;s<\/strong> it&#8217;s time to, <em>&#8220;Put your Head between your legs and <strong>Kiss Your Ass Goodbye<\/strong>&#8220;<\/em>&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Maybe <strong>Chicken Little<\/strong> was right?&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just finished listening to &#8220;Fire and Rain&#8221; by James Taylor&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0My mind wandered a bit and I started comparing the song&#8217;s title to our weather this Summer in Oklahoma&#8230;&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0The &#8220;Fire&#8221; part we have exceeded on all levels &#8211; Temp wise we tied the all-time record of days over 100\u00c2\u00a0(50 Days)\u00c2\u00a0Saturday, and since we still [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,15,18],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1618"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1618"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1618\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1619,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1618\/revisions\/1619"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1618"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1618"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.mrambler.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1618"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
