Or more accurately, Time “Zip-a-de-do-dah’s” Away…… I could swear yesterday was the last day of August, and now, today, it’s almost the last day of September!….. Don’t ask me where the days went, I have no idea…… I did notice that we’re having a little cooler days, but, it’s still all sunshine and dead grass here….. You can’t even buy (or rent) a cloud, and, Rain has become just a word…. There’s no physical evidence that it exists….. Thank God for DVD’s, or I wouldn’t know what it looks like, and the word “Rain” would have no meaning whatsoever……

I thought I would throw in a audio clip for your enjoyment (or not)….. This version of this song has been heard by only a handful of people since it was recorded live on May 30, 1974….. The band was called “Wolfbrand Band” and, although I named it and was a member, we didn’t have what you would call a leader….. It was just four young lost souls with very little equipment having a go at being musicians, and, as Maxwell Smart would say, “And Loving It”…. I think I had more fun in this band than any I was in….. Without further ado - Time Fades Away – let me know what you think (That’s me (MR) on slide guitar and harp)….. Enjoy (I Hope)…… Seems like it was only a couple of months ago, not decades, when we recorded that….. I’d like to know who’s been stealin’ Time…..

I have a solution for the Debt crisis, Although I’m sure that most of the people that it will effect the most don’t want to hear it, and will tell me thousands of reasons that it won’t work.
Today Sen. Tom Coburn (R)OK put forth his plan for the crisis, it includes cuts to medicare, veterans paying more for services that they were promised and the same old BS.
Here’s the J.J. Plan:
1st. Flat Tax, abolish all tax loopholes/Deductions that the wealthiest take advantage of daily (as a truck driver myself included) Pay a percent on all goods and services period, no deductions, loopholes, earned income credit, etc.
2nd. Bring the troops home. lets quit being the worlds police force and trying to force democracy on the rest of the world. Let the rest of the world take care of them selves.
3rd. Cut salaries of the government. From the president all the way down to the guy who mops the floors. Why does the president need to make $500.000,00 per year, what does he have to buy while in office?. Let all the politicians all the way down the food chain make a living wage. $50.000,00 per year sounds fair to me. Why does any politician need to make anything above that? We elect them to go to their posts and represent us, not to make their fortunes.
4th. Lets abolish some of the pork-barrel government agencies. Why do we need a department of transportation, AND a Federal Highway Administration. Combine them, as well as some of the other government redundant agencies.
Now I know that it is simplistic, and did not require a college degree in finance or political science, but in my small simple mind I think it might just work.
Ok everyone tell me why it won’t work.

A couple of weeks ago I was loading at the El Reno, OK Federal correctional facility. While waiting to be admitted into the secure area, I noticed that the guards who driving around the perimeter of the prison were all driving these small SUV vehicles.

New Group “W” Bench…..

During the period of time that Mr. Jek was growing up, we would be constantly working on building projects – Models, electronic kits, any and everything, so, we needed a semi-permanet work space….. I had an old Samsonite card table and we named it ” The Group “W” Bench”….. Why?….. If you can’t figure it out, listen to “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree” by Arlo Guthrie, or watch the movie “Alice’s Restaurant”…….

Now, this wasn’t just a normal card table…… Jek built what we called a “Tub Adjust” circuit ON the table…. We had a friend that Jek could irritate on command, and Jek claims he could “Adjust” his attitude with the “Tub Adjust”….. It seemed to work somewhat, and, it was fun to play with if you had become frustrated with whatever project you were working on and needed a break….. It was basically an IC chip, a LED, an adjustable on-off pot, a battery holder, and a bunch of hook-up wire…. This wasn’t mounted on a circuit board, he soldered it directly to the table….. As you know, vinyl, solder, and a hot soldering iron combine in curious way…. The “Tub Adjust” naturally became a permanent component of the Group “W” Bench….. Many projects saw completion and/or destruction on the table….. It was finally retired to an outdoor firing range in Seminole, OK where it was used as a cleaning and firing table….. Unfortunately, it was left out in the Oklahoma weather once too much and the top deteriorated to the point that we have to use a piece of plywood on top, but, it is still alive and well…..

Enough background….. Lately I have been going through all the 40 or so years of stuff I have in storage and decided I need a new Group “W” Bench that I could set-up when I needed to work on some of the cool vintage stuff that I hadn’t seen in years….. Hence, let me present to you, without further ado, THE NEW GROUP “W” BENCH…… Everyone should have one….. Oh, Yeah, Jek, I need you to draw me a schematic of the “Tub Adjust” circuit…. Got to have one!…..

Yeah, I know, I dripped paint on it and tried to wipe it up, but, I expect it to see a lot of action in the next month, year, Hell, maybe the next Lifetime – I’ll pass it on to Jek….. Here’s part of your inheritance, Jek, along with the OU watch…… Boy, are you LUCKY!…..

Yep, it’s here, TODAY, and I’m not talking Terminator II…… According to what I heard on the news, this, should I say, Whack-o group has predicted it’s all over today – THE SKY IS FALLING! (Oh, that’s from something else)…… It’s supposed to start around 6:00 pm….. I don’t know if that’s EDT, CDT, MDT, PDT, or Hong Kong time…..

Just in case they’re right, I wanted to make one last Post saying it’s been fun and as Jimi said, “I’ll see you on the Other Side”….. If they’re wrong, and the World hasn’t started falling in upon itself, I’ll make a comment after 6:00 pm…… Until then, I think I’ll pull out the guitar and harp and go out playin’ some Blues….. Can’t think of a better way to go…… I know the World’s in sad shape right now, but, I don’t think I’m quite ready for “The End” of it just yet…… Remember the answer is 42……

This is a complicated “Muscle Car” term because the definition of it depends on whether you’re a F.O.R.D. (Fix Or Repair Daily) Nut, a G.M. (General Mistake) Bozo, or a MoPar (Chrysler Corp.) Fan (No prejudice here…eh?)…..

Ford and GM owners consistently Demean the Dodge Challenger by calling it a ‘Cuda – therefore, they call all ‘Cudas and Challengers – Cudas, Therefore, they are “CUDAHEADS” for not knowing the difference… The Challenger is a much better design (No prejudice, again…eh?…), and is easily distinguished from a ‘Cuda….. It would be like a MoPar nut calling a Camero a Trans Am…..

Now, on the other hand, if you’re a MoPar Nut, and you like the design of the ‘Cuda over the Challenger – Your Brain’s warped….. The design is the basic difference between the ‘Cuda and the Challenger – all the running gear and accessories are almost Identical……. Here is a hardcore MoPar “CudaHead”……

MRB’s getting domesticated…… I know, it’s hard to believe….. I went out and actually bought a Bed with a bookcase headboard and a matching Night Stand with Two (2) Humongous sized drawers….. I’ve figured out where my mattress goes and some of the junk, including books, that will go in the headboard…..

It’s the Night Stand drawers that have me stalemated…. What could you possibly need while in bed, or in the middle of the night that would fill two (2) HUGE drawers?….. Books? – in the headboard, Gun? – under the pillow (extra ammo, too), Medications? – Not a good idea to grab some meds when you’re asleep….. So What?….. I’m calling on any domesticated MR Community members to offer up what you store in your Night Stand….. If I get no suggestions, I’ll just use them for CD/DVD storage…..

……me if you can….. If you’re like me, and, I know that you’re probably not (Ha), you always have more personal projects than you can ever get done…… My problem is I can’t keep my big mouth shut when it comes to volunteering help to others….. They can just be talking about some little problem and/or project that they are having trouble with, and my mouth is offering suggestions, help, whatever, before my brain engages and I realize there goes another one of my personal projects directly to the back burner…..

“Just say No” is a lot easier said than done, believe me!…… I’ve thought of Duct tape, but, people might stare, and, it’s also hard to breathe with the old hooter only….. Any suggestions from the MR Community of “Dedicated Misfits”?….. I know I am asking for it – So-o-o, give it your best shot…… (I’m actually using this ruse as an excuse for not being on the Blog for the past couple of weeks – is it working?….. So-o-o, HELP me if you can, I’m feeling down (and overloaded, overworked, and under productive)……

Oh, yeah, PD Bob just loves suckering me into any of his harebrained schemes……
