Here’s another snapshot that Anon sent me….. It was originally titled, “So much for that Global Warming/Endangered Species claptrap!!!!”, but, I know the inside story…. Whitey the Polar Bear is merely being a good citizen and is offering the pedestrian on the passenger’s side of Whitey’s Ford pick-up a ride (Yes, Polar Bear’s can get Driver’s Licenses in Seattle)…. This pic was taken on Pine Street in the Capitol Hill District in Seattle……

As far as the Global Warming crap, I agree, it’s mis-named….. It should be called “Global Climatic Change” because most of World is experiencing more of the weather that they normally get, and, in some cases, complete reversal of the “Norm”….. In Oklahoma, we’re already getting Burn Ban Warnings…. We ended 2011 in an “Extreme Drought”, and, so far in 2012, we’ve had about two snowflakes of moisture…. As soon as everything burns to the ground, we will be an official “Desert”…..

Just finished listening to “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor…… My mind wandered a bit and I started comparing the song’s title to our weather this Summer in Oklahoma…… The “Fire” part we have exceeded on all levels – Temp wise we tied the all-time record of days over 100 (50 Days) Saturday, and since we still have plenty of HOT days left in the Season, I’m sure we will break it in the next day or two….. Wildfire wise – We’ve had ‘em large and destructive everywhere mainly due to the fact the “Rain” part has come little and far between, and at an expensive price….. When you have temps in excess of 100 and a little moisture in the air, you get what’s called “Micro-Burst” or “Down Draft” thunderstorms that cause “Gust Fronts” up to and in excess of 100 MPH (F-1 Tornado level – only straight not twisty)…… JT didn’t include “Wind” in his song – He should have…… Example: A few weeks ago we got less than 1/4 inch of rain….. The Price of this precious little bit of moisture was 50,000 businesses and homes without electric- 100 year old trees uprooted – Damage/total destruction to houses, property, animals, vehicles, etc…. All for just a drop or two of rain that turned into a short “Steambath” the next day……

What does all this mean?…… Who knows?…… I don’t know which is gotten worse – The Weather or The Politicians.…. We need a change on both fronts or as they said in the ’50′s it’s time to, “Put your Head between your legs and Kiss Your Ass Goodbye“…… Maybe Chicken Little was right?……

…What was I going to say?…. Oh, yeah, If you live anywhere around MR HQ and want to venture outside, you’d be well advised to do it in the night time…. If you do it in the Day time, you might suffer from Spontaneous Combustion (P-u-u-f-f!)…. It was 110 degrees in the shade yesterday (another new record)….. We’re working on 12 straight days of triple digit heat….. We’re over 20 days for the Summer and it’s only July 10th!…. We’re not even into our “Hot Season” yet (A-r-g-h-h!)….

Sorry ’bout talking about the weather again, but, this is ridiculous, and, being “trapped inside like a Rat” 95% of the time, seems to drain your enthusiasm to accomplish anything, except staying cool….. If anyone out there is still coherent, PLEASE Post something!…. I’m melting here!….

I can’t believe it’s already 4th of July weekend!….. Half the year – GONE - Ph-u-u-t! – Just like that!….. Oh, Well, It may not be much of a 4th around here anyway, as we have a Burn Ban in effect in Oklahoma County due to extreme drought conditions, above 100 degree temps across the board for the entire weekend, along with high winds, etc., etc…. I’m probably going to hide under the A/C inside mostly and hope that no one outside causes a Fire Drill in my immediate future…..

Also, according to the National News, we have Terrorism to worry about….. I heard that a man was arrested in Seattle who was planning an attack on a military training facility over the 4th…. So-o-o, we have to also add that to the normal worries of having explosive devices in the hands of many Morons for this particular Holiday….

Maybe it’s just me, but, the 4th of July just isn’t what it used to be…… Happy “Independence Day”……

Yeah, I know, here I go picking on the Weather again….. If it would just stop picking on me, I’d leave it alone and go on to more important things, but, when you’re subjected to 3 hours of sheer terror caused by constant Tornado Sirens and the Weather Forecasters (I use the term Too-Loosely) drawing a straight line directly to where you live, you get a bit shaken and peeved off at the Weather….. All-in-all, I guess I can’t complain – I’m still here along with all I own as the Tornadoes decided to travel North and South of my location, although, it was never clear during the entire time where or when a Tornado would spin out of clouds……

The Northwest of OKC Tornado tracked 75 miles on the ground, was up to a mile wide at times, and destroyed any and everything in it’s path….. We are just lucky that it didn’t turn a few degrees to the East from it’s starting point as it would have taken out a large part of the OKC Metro area, including ME!.… Still, it along with the other Tornadoes on the South Side of OKC managed to destroy hundreds of homes, kill 10 people, and injured over a hundred…..

We have already had more Tornadoes than we usually have in a whole year, and, it’s just May….. Along with the Ice Storms, Blizzards, and Floods we’ve had, I’m more than ready to move anywhere (almost) than here….. A nice warm cave in Alaska would be just fine right now…… “North to Alaska” with maybe a stop in Seattle might be the ticket, but, I’ll probably just end up staying here, UNLESS, I win the Lottery, but, you have to buy a ticket to win…. Bummer….

In the next day or so – It’s back to the ’70′s for highs….. “This Weather – Has Got Me – On The Run, ah-h-h-h, ah-h-h… (sung to the tune of “Cold Turkey”)
