I woke up this morning to a weird smell coming from the kitchen….. I found PD Bob busy at work making a mess….. Somewhere he came up with some Water Buffalo Ribs that he had been cooking in barbecue sauce all night long…. I think he actually expects to serve them for dinner today…. He’s prancing around, proud as punch with himself, so I guess I’m going to have to try them, no matter what….. I’m calling him “Buffalo Bob” now…. I don’t even know if they have Water Buffalo in China!…. Anyone want to come for dinner?……

Here at MR Central Headquarters it is 2012….. It is just barely 2012 by a minute or so – Oklahoma (CST) Time….. I noticed the Blog’s log clock shows it’s an hour or so into the New Year – I guess it’s set to Eastern Standard Time – In any case, all of you West Coasters are “Living in the Past” because at the time of this Post it’s still 2011 there -HA!....

So-o-o, a big HAPPY NEW YEAR’S to everyone, even if it’s not New Year’s where you are yet……

…..to start that New Year’s Revolution list….. As I said before, it will be a Revolution, not a Resolution, to my usual daily routine if I really follow through on any of the items I have in mind for the coming Year….. I have little problem with the first part – The 1st half is thinking of the Revolutions, the 2nd half is writing them down, and here is the wall I run into - The 3rd half is actually doing them!….. That 3rd half is a real bitch!….

Oh, Well, OUT with Old Man 2011, and IN with New Baby 2012!….. I, at least, promise to do my best….. Here’s one of my Revolutions: I’ve been rather LAX on the Blog, so I hereby plan to Post More even if it’s something lame and mundane…. Simple things are sometimes most interesting if presented in the right way (what an excuse….eh?)…..

Anybody got any Revolutions they want to share with the Community?….. We are ready to listen and cut them to pieces (did I write that out loud?)…..

A Weird New Years…..

To celebrate New Years, Oklahoma City has what it calls, “Opening Night” on New Year’s Eve….. This event takes place in the section of OKC called, “Bricktown”….. There’s music, food, entertainment, and fireworks….. This year they’ve got two headliner music acts – The Flaming Lips, which is an Oklahoma group that made it fairly big, and, get this, which I still don’t believe – Yoko Ono (I pronounce it “Oh-No”) and The Plastic Ono Band with Sean Lennon….. I’m speechless – I mean I didn’t think that there were more than a handful of people in the whole state of Oklahoma who had ever even heard of The Plastic Ono Band….. Maybe the ones that booked the gig have never heard her sing (I use the term loosely)….. On the other side – Why would anybody that’s internationally known want to perform in OKC?… Truth is definitely stranger than fiction….. I wouldn’t mind going just to check it out, but, at $120 a ticket, I think I’ll have to pass….. I do know they’re not advertising it much – I caught it on the news….. I’m going to check into it further as I would like to know just how this all came about – I’m stunned!…….

…..to Everybody in the MR Central Community and everybody everywhere!…… I can’t believe another year has gone bye-bye…… Where does the time go?…… I’ve already started on my New Year’s Resolutions…… I have to admit some of them are left over from years past….. I hoping that I do better in the coming year and, at least, get to mark one of them off of my list!……

Anyway, Everybody have a SAFE and MERRY CHRISTMAS along with a HAPPY NEW YEAR….. I know I’m going to have a GREAT Holiday Season, and, I wish you one too!…… (Fa-la-la-la-lah)…..

Thought I would wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving early….. Hopefully everyone will have a GREAT Holiday – Gobble up the Turkey, but don’t be a Turkey!…. Enjoy the people and family you share it with, even if you don’t enjoy them in particular…… Required Holidays can be confusing and stressful if you let them – So Don’t – Put everything else on the back burner and have FUN!!!!…..

It’s Already July?…..

I can’t believe it’s already 4th of July weekend!….. Half the year – GONE - Ph-u-u-t! – Just like that!….. Oh, Well, It may not be much of a 4th around here anyway, as we have a Burn Ban in effect in Oklahoma County due to extreme drought conditions, above 100 degree temps across the board for the entire weekend, along with high winds, etc., etc…. I’m probably going to hide under the A/C inside mostly and hope that no one outside causes a Fire Drill in my immediate future…..

Also, according to the National News, we have Terrorism to worry about….. I heard that a man was arrested in Seattle who was planning an attack on a military training facility over the 4th…. So-o-o, we have to also add that to the normal worries of having explosive devices in the hands of many Morons for this particular Holiday….

Maybe it’s just me, but, the 4th of July just isn’t what it used to be…… Happy “Independence Day”……

It’s Flag Day!……

I’m sure they’re talking about the American Flag…… I hate to admit that I didn’t know that we officially had a Flag Day, and, I’m a Veteran!……. Shame,Shame, Shame on me……

So-o-o, if you have a Flag – Display it….. If you see a Flag – Salute it….. If you grew up in the late ’60′s – Early ’70′s, and you own a Flag shirt – wear it…… I have a friend (our Bass Player) who had, and may still have, a pair of Red and White vertical wide stripped Overalls – wore them with a Blue shirt…..

Remember, even Mick Jagger wore a British flag at one time – not to mention the entire group known as “The Who”……. So, Fly it, Show it, Salute it, and feel good about it….. Oh, yeah, if you see one of us Vets out and about today, say Thanks – It’ll make our day…… (Step Down – Remove Soapbox)….
