If we believe the media, “Gas Prices are too High, People are not traveling as much” “The Job Market is the worst it has been since the ’30s And people do not have money” Etc. Well I say that it is BS. Traveling down the highways of our nation, there is more Traffic than ever before. Not just in the cities but on stretches of interstate between Americas cities. I can remember when between Phoenix, AZ and Palm Springs, CA. you could go for many miles without passing another vehicle or being passed. Now it is steady traffic all the way. And it’s like that all over this land. There’s more cars on the roads than ever. And if the majority do not have jobs how can they afford gas and insurance on all those cars on the roads. Just Thinkin‘

Our really stupid Government (aka Big Business) is in the process of deleting the United States Postal Service….. COME ON, the U.S.P.S. is an National Icon….. It’s been around almost as long as our country has….. I worked for the U.S.P.S. as a letter carrier for five years….. I learned one thing – It’s no cushy job - Everyone from the Postmaster down had to work their butts off to keep up……

A few facts: U.S.P.S. is one of the few Government agencies that is required to generate it’s own revenue to support itself….. The problem is they are so over-regulated by that same Government, that that’s impossible….. Big Business (UPS, Fed-Ex, etc) wants them out of business, and, stupid us, are letting them get away with it…..

They have already laid-off 150,000 Postal workers and plan to lay off an additional 250,000…. They are condensing down Post Offices and closing small Post Offices all across the Nation…. The ultimate plan is that YOU definitely will not get home delivery of your mail – You will have to go to the local grocery store or somewhere similar (sound like the 1800′s?) to get your mail….. That’s just what I want – A unskilled pimple-faced teenage stocker going through my Mail….. People have started protesting about Wall Street – Don’t Stop there – Let’s take our Country Back!…..

I was going through my receipts for some tax stuff and I have noticed that 90% of the credit card/Cash register receipts have over half of the receipt about taking a Survey!
Aren’t we supposed to be conserving paper? How about taking the money that corporations spend on surveys and pay the help better, Or better yet Wal-Mart Hire some more cashiers so I do not have to stand in line for 10 minutes to pay for a loaf of bread!

I have a solution for the Debt crisis, Although I’m sure that most of the people that it will effect the most don’t want to hear it, and will tell me thousands of reasons that it won’t work.
Today Sen. Tom Coburn (R)OK put forth his plan for the crisis, it includes cuts to medicare, veterans paying more for services that they were promised and the same old BS.
Here’s the J.J. Plan:
1st. Flat Tax, abolish all tax loopholes/Deductions that the wealthiest take advantage of daily (as a truck driver myself included) Pay a percent on all goods and services period, no deductions, loopholes, earned income credit, etc.
2nd. Bring the troops home. lets quit being the worlds police force and trying to force democracy on the rest of the world. Let the rest of the world take care of them selves.
3rd. Cut salaries of the government. From the president all the way down to the guy who mops the floors. Why does the president need to make $500.000,00 per year, what does he have to buy while in office?. Let all the politicians all the way down the food chain make a living wage. $50.000,00 per year sounds fair to me. Why does any politician need to make anything above that? We elect them to go to their posts and represent us, not to make their fortunes.
4th. Lets abolish some of the pork-barrel government agencies. Why do we need a department of transportation, AND a Federal Highway Administration. Combine them, as well as some of the other government redundant agencies.
Now I know that it is simplistic, and did not require a college degree in finance or political science, but in my small simple mind I think it might just work.
Ok everyone tell me why it won’t work.

I can’t believe it’s already 4th of July weekend!….. Half the year – GONE - Ph-u-u-t! – Just like that!….. Oh, Well, It may not be much of a 4th around here anyway, as we have a Burn Ban in effect in Oklahoma County due to extreme drought conditions, above 100 degree temps across the board for the entire weekend, along with high winds, etc., etc…. I’m probably going to hide under the A/C inside mostly and hope that no one outside causes a Fire Drill in my immediate future…..

Also, according to the National News, we have Terrorism to worry about….. I heard that a man was arrested in Seattle who was planning an attack on a military training facility over the 4th…. So-o-o, we have to also add that to the normal worries of having explosive devices in the hands of many Morons for this particular Holiday….

Maybe it’s just me, but, the 4th of July just isn’t what it used to be…… Happy “Independence Day”……

I am soliciting advice from friends and family on something.
I have been working for the same company for over 2 years now, Every time that I want some time off I am given grief and they act like I am stealing from them. I am in a industry that takes me away from my home for weeks at a time, and this company does not usually have loads that take me to parts of the country where my family and friends live. And when I can manage to get to parts of the country where people are that I wish to visit with, they don’t want me to take any time off to see anyone. All they want is Keep Moving, Gotta Go, No time to stop. Etc.
Also the health Insurance that we have through them Is causing me to have to file Bankruptcy.
But the dilemma is that 1st It is getting increasingly harder to find jobs in the trucking industry, Companies won’t hire drivers who Do not stay somewhere for long periods of time. I have a history since 2002 of changing companies when it gets unbearable or when the lies take over the operation of the company. 2nd I am comfortable with this company, I know their ways, customers, Dispatchers, Etc. And I am making good money Here.
So what I am asking, Should I Find somewhere that has better Benefits, and home time and make less, Make another change that would make me even more unemployable, or Should I stay with the status quo.?

This was sent to me from a friend who received it from a friend in England…….

The government today, announced that it’s changing its emblem from a Union jack to a CONDOM, because it more accurately reflects the government’s political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you’re …actually being screwed. It just doesn’t get more accurate than that! ..

Since we were originally Colonies of the British Empire, I think we should follow suit, and, besides our current government fits the description to a T!…….

Hey everyone, (Those that are left) Where has everyone disappeared to? Now I feel that I have a pretty good excuse. My computer time is limited and I am on the road more than at home (329 days out last year) and cannot post very often.
But the rest of everybody, Whats up? Other than MR, Robo, And myself and occasionally Anon It seems that everyone else has abandoned our little community.
I know the same old excuses, It’s spring/summertime people don’t spend much time inside, ect. Well don’t you check your e-mail daily? Have we become boring?
Doesn’t anyone else have anything to say anymore?
As I have stated previously I believe in this Blog and feel it is a vital forum to all. No matter what your views are this is a place where we all can have a discussion about any topic that anybody wants to without fear of retribution. While we might not all agree on all topics/Points of view we can all agree to differ.
So in short, Where in the hell is everyone?!!!! I don’t want MR to dissolve this forum because of Lack of participation we have had a lot of fun here over the years, learned some things, and I feel kept the American dream alive thru freedom of speech.
Of course since everyone has abandoned us it seems I guess I am just talking to 3 people. (Preaching to the choir somewhat).
