As I get on the 707….. horsepower!

Well this is enough to make one drool….. Dodge just announced the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. The numbers look more impressive than the new Corvettes: 6.2L supercharged Hemi with 707hp, 650 ft/lbs of torque, hooked to an 8-speed Torqueflite or a modified Viper 6-speed manual. Styling goodies include a ’71-inspired interior and rear lights, T/A rear spoiler, and ram air intakes in the inner headlights. I’ll never get close to one, and idiots with more income than me will be wrapping them around trees left and right, but it’s still nice to dream! (Only problem is, they’ll be 1/2 a mile down the road before they realize the little greasy spot on the road used to be me…)

(Whoever selected the baby-poop mustard interior should be shot. Jeez, why were cars of the ’80s such CRAP?!?!)

The keyfob for junior to take his date to the prom reduces the power to “only” 500 HP.

And I still think all these retro-styled cars are ugly as hell.

  4. I agree with you, HS, the proportions are way off….. They looked all squashed up and top heavy…… So goes the World….

  5. My ’71 Hemi Challenger would EAT ’em up an spit ’em out for a snack!……

    I’d like to see that.

  7. HS, I probably have hundred’s of thousand’s of still pics of the 426 Hemi, The Six-Pack, the 440 HP, the 383 HP, the 340 Six-Pack, the 413 Max Wedge and even the infamous Slant 6…… I also probably have a million feet of 8mm silent and sound film of all my cars…. I promise one of these days to get them all digitalized and distributed to any and all that might be interested in them….. Of course, you might have to remind me from tome to time (Ha!)…..
