Sounds good for reconstructed history...... .....And, I'm not saying you are wrong, but, I was in Band practice at Star-Spencer on that day, and, everything that was broadcast concerning details of the crash on the radio at that time were as I described...... Maybe they had it wrong in the beginning, or maybe certain people's memories have changed over the years in order to make a better story..... That would include mine...... Who were we talking about?.....

Ok MR. I thought you knew music history better than that. 1. Buddy is the one who chartered the plane, of course he was supposed to be on it. The original passengers were supposed to be Buddy, Waylon, and Tommy Allsup.(he went on to play with Bob Wills) keeping to the country theme. 2. Richie Valens had the cold (caught on the bus with no heat) Buddy convinced Waylon to give up his seat on the plane to Richie. and Tommy and The Big Bopper flipped a coin for the last seat. In later years Waylon would never comment about the crash only once commenting before his death that some measure of survivors guilt played a part in his self destructive behavior in the '70s. Somewhere I have an interview with Tommy Allsup where he goes into detail about that night (mainly to show that the producers of "The Buddy Holly Story" that they misrepresented the order of events. Any way I have been to the crash site. a solemn place I must admit.

I have just started watching the Super Bowl Pre-Game. They're at this very moment playing rap behind a team highlights spot. You just can't get away from it. Probably the same thing our parents said about our music.

I said I would atone, Anon, not subject myself to "Death by Fried Chicken Face"..... Does anyone really know what's in The Colonel's secret herbs and spices?..... I'm not going to find out - Thank you very much..... I will eat a cold can of Campbell's condensed chicken noodle soup - No added water - straight out of the can - That should be enough for complete forgiveness of my transgression .....

Sunn, I also have a fairly open mind concerning music, and, I agree with you 100%..... As I stated before, all they need is one chord (sometimes one repeated note) and a rhyming dick-sun-air-e..... Must have lost their dictionary?...... eh?....

Robo, I definitely agree with you on the soundtrack crap..... Almost all the new movies, especially action flicks, have the most obnoxiously simpleton rap, slap, hip-hop music in them..... Doesn't matter if the setting is in a desert, Europe, wherever, the soundtrack still hops with the rap..... The main problem is if you have surround sound, they have this "Music" (as they call it) mixed so loud in the surround speakers, you can hardly hear anything that the actors are saying..... Very annoying.......

Don't know what to tell you MR. My only suggestion is to seek the advice of the oracle and look for the answer in the entrails of a chicken from KFC. Dumpster diving out back of a KFC surely would count as some kind of atonement.

I think the worse (so far) is the rap treatment given to Dylan's "Forever Young". I despise it & I have a pretty open mind as it pertains to music. So that speaks volumes.

I like the song but the music didn't die that day maybe when Lennon was shoot or the passing of Hendrix. But why do I have to lessen to hip hop and rap if I watch TV or movies now and days. Its getting to the point that if you wish to avoid PDB's sudden trauma one has to mute the TV before channel surfing.

...And, the other half of the country is unaware, Sunn...... It's a sad situation, indeed......

Anon, I will do whatever is necessary to atone for the blasphemy of my passing mention of said person (notice I didn't say "Artist", "Performer", "Star", etc., etc.)..... Even PD Bob said that particular person's recordings hurt his ears..... Before you ask how PDB was exposed to such punishment, we were watching the Tube and apparently this person is now doing the Casino Circuit, as a commercial came on and caught us unawares - I made a mad dash for the remote, which was firmly locked in PDB's hand, which was now over his ears..... He was too stunned to take action..... By the time I got the remote, the damage was done...... After throwing water in his face, and, a couple of slaps, he came around..... To no one's surprise he headed straight for his Harvey WallBanger locker.... He declared that there would be no more TV for the rest of the night and put in a Hendrix DVD to clam his shattered nerves......

MR, yes there will always be a demand for the mediocre or even terrible (Lady Ga Ga comes to mind). The same reason we keep voting unfit politicians to office. At least half of this country is to put it politely, ignorant.
